INTRODUCTION

Inclusive innovation puts Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) at the centre of the design and development of a product, process, service, or technology. While the innovation itself ought to address a societal, environmental, and economic challenge, it does so in an inclusive way and involves diverse teams. Inclusive innovation has the power to make our communities and societies more inclusive and accessible to all. It also enables businesses to interact with and service a wide base of diverse new and existing customers.

  • Case study: When innovation isn’t inclusive and the impact on organisations
  • Activity: Guess what comes next interactive discussion using real-life inclusive or non-inclusive innovation examples

Module 2: Diverse Teams & Inclusive Cultures

  • Case study: Examples of inclusive innovation brainstorming meetings

Module 3: Inclusive Innovation Applied

Solène Anglaret is an award-winning speaker, facilitator, and writer. The purpose behind everything she does is to break down borders and bring the world closer together one conversation, one story, one connection at a time. Over the past 12 years, she has worked across six different countries and for a wide range of businesses and industries – from Veolia, to Thomas Cook, Expedia Group, Harri, and Innovate UK. In 2018, she started her own venture: Be Beyond Borders. As part of this, she hosts a talkshow called 'The Inclusion Conversation’ and has published four books. Solène is a multipotentialite and her main areas of expertise are Diversity & Inclusion; Disability, Neurodiversity & Mental Health; Innovation; and Cross-Cultural Collaboration. Her love of learning led her to obtain a master’s in International Relations from Sciences Po Bordeaux as well as additional qualifications in Psychology, Diversity & Inclusion, TV Presenting, and more. In 2023, she was named as one of the Top 50 most influential neurodivergent women in the UK.
